The Counseling Center supports the academic mission of Manhattan University by providing a range of counseling services that includes developmental, preventive, and remedial approaches to student development.
This is accomplished through short-term individual counseling, group counseling, educational programs, community consultation and crisis intervention.
Through these services, the Center seeks to:
- help students successfully negotiate the developmental challenges of young adulthood
- adjust adequately to the campus environment, enhancing their personal growth and benefiting from the University environment.
Recognizing that some students will experience significant emotional or psychological difficulties that may impede their academic progress, the Center promotes student wellness by providing assessment, treatment and referral services as appropriate.
The Counseling Center staff embrace the Catholic Lasallian tradition of the University in respecting the inherent dignity of each individual we serve. We also facilitate student reflection on values and principles during critical turning points of development, and in recognizing our potential to contribute to the education of the whole person.
