The Counseling Center at Manhattan College is accredited by the International Association of Counseling, Inc.
The International Association of Counseling, Inc. accredits university and college counseling centers in the United States, Canada, Australia and the Caribbean. IACS evaluates counseling centers against a set of standards that include regulations about confidentiality, professional training and credentials of clinicians, outreach efforts of the Counseling Center, responsiveness to student mental health needs, and other standards.
Manhattan College is currently among only 18 of some 217 institutions of higher education in New York State that have this distinction.
IACS was established in 1972 with the purpose of providing guidelines and standards for the accreditation of university and college counseling centers, and in assisting counseling centers in striving to meet these standards and achieve accreditation.
