The mission of the Manhattan University Student-Athlete Academic Success Services (SAASS) is to provide student-athletes with the resources and direction needed to achieve their academic goals. Through a range of services including tutoring (Jasper Connect) and the Jasper Jumpstart program, student-athletes are better able to transition to employment or continued studies after graduation.
NCAA Division I Progress-Toward-Degree Requirements
SAASS staff constantly monitors each student-athlete's academic eligibility according to NCAA Division I standards. If a student-athlete becomes academic ineligible, they may practice and receive aid, but may not compete in any competitions. View the full list of NCAA requirements here.
Freshman-Transfer Adjustment Meetings
All freshmen and transfer student-athletes will be required to meet with their assigned SAASS staff member on a bi-weekly basis during their first semester at Manhattan University. These meetings are designed to help each student-athlete transition to the academic requirements of Manhattan University.
Student-Athlete Success Meetings
All student-athletes with a cumulative grade point average of 2.59 and below are required to meet with their assigned SAASS staff member on a weekly basis throughout the semester.
Priority Registration
Each semester, the first day of class registration is open to all senior students and senior student-athletes. All other student-athletes will register for classes on the second day of registration. This ensures student-athletes can enroll in courses compatible with their practice and travel schedule.
