Students with medically necessary dietary needs may request dining accommodations through our Special Dietary Application process. This process is designed to ensure that students have access to safe and appropriate food options while dining on campus.
How to Apply
Complete the Application
Students must complete the Special Dietary Application form, which includes a Health Care Provider Form to be completed by a licensed healthcare provider. This documentation helps us understand the nature and scope of the dietary needs.
Request for Special Dietary Accommodations
Review by Health Services and Dietitian
Once submitted, the application will be reviewed by our Health Services team and on-campus Registered Dietitian to assess the request and prepare for a personalized discussion.
Meeting Coordination
The Specialized Resource Center (SRC) will schedule a meeting with the student, a representative from Health Services, and the Dietitian. During this meeting, the student will:
- Share details about their dietary needs
- Provide examples of safe and unsafe food options
- Discuss any challenges they’ve experienced with campus dining.
Discussion of Dining Options
The group will explore available dining options on campus and identify potential accommodations that align with the student’s needs.
Final Review and Decision
After the meeting, the committee will carefully review all information provided—both in the application and during the meeting—to determine appropriate accommodations. Students will be notified of the outcome and any next steps.
