NYC Civic Corps, launched in 2009, recruits and places AmeriCorps members to serve full-time from September to June at select nonprofit organizations. NYC Civic Corps members build, develop, and grow volunteer programs by recruiting, managing, and engaging volunteers to address impact areas that are priorities of New York City.
Membership Benefits:

Specific Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, or Lawful Permanent Resident of the United States
- Have successfully obtained a high school diploma or its equivalent prior to the start of the program
- Agree to and pass a criminal background check
- Ability to serve full-time for the full program term (generally Monday to Friday, 9AM-5PM)
- A strong motivation for making a positive difference in New York City
- Willingness to learn new skills and improve upon existing ones
- Must complete a total of 1,200 hours
