The Manhattan College Council for Faculty Affairs (CFA), first convened in 1972, is “a means by which faculty, through elected representatives, participate in the government of the college in those matters that are the proper jurisdiction of the faculty.”

The faculty has primary responsibility for such fundamental areas as curriculum, subject matter and methods of instruction, research, faculty status, and those aspects of student life which relate to the educational process.

Membership

Full time faculty who have been at the college for three years can be elected to the CFA to represent 20 areas of the college as listed below:

Standing Committees

The standing committees of the council are concerned with the following areas of great importance to the faculty: 1) educational policies; 2) faculty and development; 3) student life.

In general, standing committees consist of full-time tenured or tenure-track members of the faculty who have taught at the College for at least one year. The standing committees are:
