What is Mission Month????

You may be wondering what Mission Month is all about.

In short, it’s a time when we all are invited to “PAUSE FOR A MOMENT”.

Why?  ... to recall and affirm the importance of what we do – that is, to be ever more mindful of the significance of what YOU and each of us do each and every day in bringing to life the distinctive and sacred Lasallian Catholic Mission of Manhattan College.

The Lasallian Hallmarks which inspire us in fulfilling the College Mission are:

  • Excellence in teaching
  • Respect for human dignity
  • Reflection on faith and its relation to reason
  • An emphasis on ethical conduct
  • Commitment to social justice

Accordingly, when you see a Mission Month poster on the Quad or elsewhere on campus, you are encouraged to “PAUSE FOR A MOMENT” to recall and affirm the significance of what you and your colleagues do each and every day to bring to life the distinctive and sacred Lasallian Catholic Mission of Manhattan College.

May this Mission Month be for you a time of encouragement and affirmation for this Mission of Manhattan College is vital and necessary for the well-being our our world!
