In response to calls reporting issues with accessing voice mail using your former password we want to share the following "fix".
Also find below instructions on how to setup your voice mail for the first time.
Logging into Voice Mail you have previously set up (on old system)
Dial *17. At the prompt, dial your extension number followed by the # sign. You will be prompted to enter your password -- enter your previous password and press #.
If your old password meets the security requirements you will be logged in to the mailbox
If your old password does not meet the security requirements you will hear one of the following messages:
“Login incorrect, try again.” At this point, enter the extension number and # and when asked for the password, simply press #. If you successfully log in, follow the prompts and enter a new password. If you do not successfully log in, contact your Administrator to have the password reset. OR
“Please Enter new password and #.” Follow the prompts to enter a new password.
Logging Into Voice Mail the First Time and Initializing Your Mailbox
Dial *17. At the prompt, dial your extension number followed by the # sign. You will be prompted to enter your password — If you are a new voicemail user and have never set up this mail box— simply press #.
Follow the prompts and record your name.
Follow the prompts and enter a new password. Passwords must be a minimum of 4 digits and a maximum of 15 digits. If you forget your password, contact your system administrator.
(Passwords cannot be the same digits, ex., 1111; consecutive digits forward or backward, ex., 1234 or 4321; or contain your extension number followed by or preceded by other digits)
