Get to know the City of Light by exploring the soundscape of Paris and Versailles during this two week Summer 2020 study abroad program. Students will learn about the city's sounds and music during times of war, revolution, protest, and peace, as well as how these sounds reflect the political, philosophical, economic, and artistic realities in France through the centuries and today. Participants will earn 3 credits for the course ART 150/305, which fulfils the Roots: Music requirement. Attendees will learn more about the class they will complete as part of the program and about the logistics involved, including the dates of the program, eligibility to participate, and the application process. All students interested in studying abroad in Paris during the summer should attend.
