Racial Justice & Our Campus

** Proposals are not required for participation in the Colloquy.

The 2020 Lasallian Higher Education Colloquy on Racial Justice (June 2-4, 2020) will focus on three aspects of promoting racial justice in higher education, namely

  • what we can do in the classroom,
  • what we can do in the wider community,
  • what we can learn through our scholarship.

As a Lasallian Catholic community of higher education, our classrooms, residence halls, and campus environments provide us with opportunities to promote new ideas, critical thinking, and self-reflection regarding the evolving nature of racial injustice and of the emerging ideas for addressing that injustice.

The 2020 Lasallian Higher Education Colloquy on Racial Justice (June 2-4, 2020), building on the annual colloquies since 2016, is a dynamic space for faculty and staff currently devoted to enhancing the understanding of the enduring struggle for racial justice and liberating new ideas for human dignity in the Lasallian tradition.

We are particularly interested in the intersection between racial justice and the Catholic Intellectual Tradition. The Colloquy encourages the development of accessible, quality articles or other resources for use inside and outside the classroom.
