Paid Spring Semester Internships in Albany

In recent years, three of our students (two from SOLA and one from Business) have successfully participated in the NY State Assembly Internship program, for which students earn 12-15 credits, and a stipend of $6,600. (There is a similar State Senate program).
Participants are assigned to work in the office of a member of the State Legislature. They also take one course, taught by two experienced professors, develop a policy proposal, and participate in a mock legislative session. This program is an excellent learning and career development experience, and we encourage students of any major to apply.
Students interested in learning more can go to http;//nyassembly.gov/internship, or see Margaret Groarke (margaret.groarke@manhattan.edu, Miguel 426). Professor Groarke has applications and can assist in the application process.
Deadline to apply for spring semester is November 1st.
