The Mission Month Day of Service Planning Committee is currently in the midst of organizing the college-wide Mission Month Day of Service for Saturday, April 28th, 2018.
Manhattan College will honor the legacy of John Baptist de LaSalle by engaging in the community through a variety of service projects with our local community partners. All students, campus groups, faculty, administrators, staff, and alumni are invited to join in the day. Our hope is that the Mission Month Day of Service will encourage our Manhattan College community to continue to engage in meaningful, sustainable, and mutually beneficial community engagement initiatives throughout the year.
Students will be able to sign-up with a student group/club/organization/honor society that they are already a member of, OR as an individual.
To sign-up with a specific group, students must select the desired group from the drop-down menu within the Google Form.
To sign-up as an individual, select "Individual" on the Google Form. Individuals will be placed together with other individual sign-ups to form groups.
To leaders of all student groups: Please be sure to get all of your members signed up by Sunday, April 22nd at 11:59pm.
After sign-ups close on Sunday, April 22nd, groups will be partnered with community organizations to address needs explicitly expressed by those organizations. Partner sites will include gardening and grounds clean-up with Serviam Gardens and Kingsbridge Heights Community Center, park clean-ups with NYC Parks Dept and Friends of Van Cortlandt Park, food distribution with CityHarvest and local food pantries, home rehabilitation with the Saint Bernard’s Project, in addition to other local community partner organizations.
Mission Month Day of Service has become a tradition of service at Manhattan College as we celebrate our Lasallian Heritage during Mission Month. We hope you will encourage fellow students to sign-up, and save the date! We look forward to seeing you on Saturday, April 28th as all Jaspers unite to give back to our local community!
