Israelis-Palestinians with a Vision

The American Friends of the Parents Circle – Families Forum shares the human side of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict with the American public in order to foster a peace and reconciliation process. During L.O.V.E. and academic partnership exploratory trips, a number of Manhattan College faculty, staff, administrators and students have visited in-person with members of the Parents Circle – Families Forum, a joint Israeli-Palestinian organization made up of more than 600 bereaved families, who, instead of choosing revenge, have chosen a path of reconciliation.

On Monday, April 27th at 1:30 PM EST

The American Friends of the Parents Circle - Families Forum and the American Friends of Combatants for Peace are co-hosting the Joint Memorial Ceremony that offers a new vision: the hope for a just and peaceful future in which they resolve to end the occupation and choose a new path of peace, equality, and dignity for all. The Joint Memorial Ceremony will take place virtually, live-streamed from Tel Aviv and Ramallah on Monday, April 27 at 1:30pm.

During Mission Month at Manhattan College each April we call to mind the life of Saint John Baptist de La Salle and the vitality of the Lasallian heritage among us each and every day, more than 300 years since his passing into eternal life.  Among the hallmarks of this Lasallian heritage that inspire the Mission of Manhattan College are

  • excellence in teaching,
  • respect for human dignity,
  • reflection on faith and its relation to reason,
  • an emphasis on ethical conduct,
  • and commitment to social justice.
