Islam Awareness Week: Muslim Activism & Advocacy - April 8th - April 12th
Islam Awareness Week will consist of seven events running from Monday, April 8th through Friday April 12th. These events will include:
Our Keynote Speaker, Isra Chaker from Oxfam America, discussing "Finding One's Purpose in the Trump Era". Monday, April 8th at 5:00 pm in Kelly Commons 4C.
An art exhibit featuring student submitted art centered around the Muslim American Identity. Tuesday, April 9th at 3:30 pm in Kelly Commons 4C.
A film screening of Sultan & the Saint followed by a discussion with our Muslim Chaplain and Father Tom. Wednesday, April 10th at 5:00 pm in the Multicultural Center.
Our second speaker for the week, Khalid Latif of ICNYU, discussing advocacy in the digital age. Thursday, April 11th at 5:00 pm in Kelly Commons 4C.
A Dining for Women segment on Afghanistan & the Razia's Ray of Hope Foundation. Thursday, April 11th at 7:00 pm in Kelly Commons 4C.
And finally, ending the week with an Interfaith Jummah Prayer with Imam Samer Already, Father Thomas Franks, and Rabbi Linda Shriner Cahn. The Interfaith Jummah Prayer will begin at 1:00 pm in Kelly Commons 4C.
Immediately following the Interfaith Jummah Prayer, at 2:30 we will walk over to the Quadrangle and have a vigil for victims of hate crimes focusing on the lives lost in the New Zealand attacks.
