Decision regarding Summer 2020 study abroad programs

Dear students,

We hope that you have been staying safe and healthy during these challenging times. The Office of Study Abroad has been working to track the evolving global pandemic and to assess the likely risk in each of our Summer 2020 program locations. Given the continued spread of Covid-19 around the world and the current guidelines published by national and global organizations like the CDC, the Department of State, and the W.H.O., the Office of Study Abroad has made the difficult decision to cancel all May and June 2020 study abroad programs along with all associated scholarships. We understand that this is likely a disappointing, even if unsurprising, outcome. We certainly don't take this decision lightly but must prioritize the health and safety of our Manhattan College community members and international partners. Any new programs and associated scholarship opportunities that may emerge for late summer will be posted on our website and distributed via our email listserv.

We strongly encourage you to consider studying abroad in a future term. We are holding a virtual information session about Fall 2020 full semester opportunities this Wednesday, 4/1 at noon - please email to request the Google Hangouts link if you’d like to join us. Our office is also already beginning to work on Winter Intersession 2021 programming options and we plan to announce the January courses we'll be offering abroad in late September or early October. Keep an eye on your MC email for more details at that time!

Please don't hesitate to reach out to with any questions or should there be anything further our office can do to assist you. Stay safe and we look forward to being back on campus with you soon!
