Celebrating Religious Brothers' Day on May 1st!

Help us celebrate our community of Christian Brothers today! Religious Brothers Day is held annually on May 1, the feast of Saint Joseph the Worker. All religious brothers are recognized during this international event. Since their founding by St. John Baptist de La Salle in 1680, the Brothers of the Christian Schools have selflessly dedicated their lives to the education and care of future generations. Keeping the schools “together and by association,” about 4,000 brothers worldwide currently help run 1, 000 educational centers in 79 countries and serve over a million Lasallian students. Observing vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience, the brothers have given of themselves in so many ways for the betterment of our community.  Starting with the five Christian Brothers who helped found our college in 1853, and carrying on through generations of dedicated and caring brothers, we are especially mindful of their impact here at Manhattan. Our community of De La Salle Christian Brothers have dedicated their life to education our community, and for many, students across the U.S. and around the world.
