The nomination period for Campus Compact'sNewman Civic Fellowship, which recognizes community-committed students, isnow open! We are seeking nominations of undergraduate or graduate students who engage in collaborative action with others in order to create long-term social change, take action in addressing issues of inequality and political polarization, and demonstrate the motivation and potential for effective long-term civic engagement.
Nominations will be accepted until Thursday, January 17th, 2019 via this Google Form.
As a Campus Compact member institution, Manhattan College is encouraged to nominate a student for this comprehensive fellowship experience. The Newman Civic Fellowship honors the late Frank Newman, one of Campus Compact's founders and a tireless advocate for the civic engagement of higher education.The fellowship is a one-year experience, during which time fellows have access to learning opportunities, networking events, and mentoring. Through the fellowship, Campus Compact provides in-person and virtual learning opportunities focused on the skills fellows need in order to serve as effective agents of change in addressing public problems and in building equitable communities.
