All Commencement events, virtual or in person, will follow a traditional, but abbreviated, Commencement format, with an invocation, valedictory address, presentation of an honorary degree, an address from the honorary degree recipient, president's congratulatory remarks and the presentation and conferring of degrees to the graduates.
Beyond a very few faculty and staff members who will participate in the in-person ceremony, our College community will also be able to watch the livestream broadcast and send messages of congratulations to the graduates.
While it may be a challenge, we are determined to give our graduates the best experience possible, and provide an appropriate celebration of all that they have accomplished during their time at Manhattan College.
Please help celebrate these special graduates virtually:
All ceremonies will be streamed at https://commencement.manhattan.edu. You can participate in the class of 2020 virtual Commencement on Saturday, May 8 by joining the chat with the class of 2020 and their families. You may also do the same with the class of 2020 and 2021 graduate students on Saturday, May 15.
From Monday, May 17 to Wednesday, May 19, we encourage faculty, administrators, and staff to salute the class of 2021 on social media, using the hashtag #JasperGrad2021. We will share the hashtag with the class of 2021, so that they can see words of encouragement from the campus community during that week.
We encourage creative ways for schools and departments to virtually salute the classes of 2020 and 2021, including hosting more intimate virtual events with the graduates as appropriate.
